Injectable Fillers
in San Diego, CA
Some of the earliest facial aesthetic concerns include fine lines, wrinkles, and facial volume loss. While there are surgical approaches to correcting these concerns, these issues do not always warrant surgical correction. Instead, non-surgical injectable treatments are available for women and men looking to improve their facial skin and contour.
The Lounge Spa in Coastal Plastic Surgeons is pleased to offer an extensive collection of injectable dermal fillers for patients in and near San Diego, California.
What Are Injectable Dermal Fillers?
Injectable dermal fillers are exactly what their name suggests. They are non-surgical injectable treatments that “fill” areas of the face that have lost volume (or never had sufficient volume).
There are many types and variations of dermal fillers, each made with different ingredients and consistencies that target specific facial concerns or regions.
Many of the most well-known dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring molecule in the skin that draws and maintains moisture, helping to give the skin its natural plump appearance. Unfortunately, like so many natural anti-aging proteins in our tissues, our bodies produce less HA as we age. When injected, HA fillers instantly plump the area while attracting moisture and stimulating collagen production.
While hyaluronic acid fillers are some of the most common, they are not the only dermal fillers used. Other products use natural and synthetic materials to promote collagen production for healthier and fuller-looking tissues.
Dermal Fillers Can Be Used to:
- Minimize fine lines and wrinkles
- Fill deep creases like nasolabial folds or marionette lines
- Restore volume to the cheeks
- Restore or enhance lip volume
- Minimize lines and wrinkles around the lips
- Fill in tear troughs
Why Choose The Lounge Spa?
While dermal fillers are a non-surgical treatment, their placement requires great skill and knowledge of the facial structure. This is why you do not want to trust your injectable filler treatment to just anyone.
The experts at The Lounge Spa have a deep understanding of the facial tissues and know how to inject dermal fillers to achieve the most natural results possible. Combined with this, The Lounge Spa performs these injectables at Coastal Plastic Surgeons, under the medical supervision of a board-certified plastic surgeon.
The highly trained and skilled team at The Lounge Spa is here for you for all of your aesthetic questions, concerns, and needs. Our goal is to exceed your expectations.
Am I a Candidate for Dermal Fillers?
Our team at The Lounge Spa will evaluate your needs during your consultation and recommend which injectable filler or combination of fillers is best for your aesthetic needs.
Ideal candidates for dermal fillers are in good overall health and do not have any allergies to the injections. Candidates interested in this treatment are displeased by fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss across their faces.
It is important to remember that injectable treatments cannot achieve the same results as plastic surgery correction. In addition, patients must remember that dermal fillers provide only temporary results. Most dermal fillers last between 12 and 18 months before needing an additional treatment session.
Dermal fillers are not the same as BOTOX® Cosmetic injections. While these are both injectable treatments, they work very differently. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes muscles to prevent contraction. It is designed to minimize wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movements, such as crow’s feet or frown lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic will not restore volume as dermal fillers do.
How Are Dermal Filler Injections Performed?
Many dermal fillers contain lidocaine in their composition for pain relief during and after the injection. A topical anesthetic may be applied to the treatment area to enhance comfort.
Once your treatment plan has been established, your provider will perform several injections in the treatment area. Multiple injections are often necessary to ensure the products spread evenly to create natural-looking results.
Injectable filler treatment sessions usually take less than an hour.
What Results Can I Expect From Injectable Dermal Fillers?
Your results will be noticeable immediately after your filler treatment and will continue to refine over the following days.
Dermal fillers usually last between one and two years before needing to be repeated (although this can vary by patient and the type of filler used). Fillers can be repeated safely as often as necessary.
Even though these treatments are not permanent, they provide significant benefits to both the contours of your face and the look of your skin (since most dermal fillers increase collagen production, which helps skin thickness and tone).
